As the London Pedagogy Project ended in 2008, the active functions on this website have now been switched off. All materials that previously required registration have been made available publicly. This website is being kept for archiving purposes only.

Please visit the website of the follow-up LDSE project for news on our development of a Learning Design Support Environment, building on the outputs of the London Pedagogy Planner and PHOEBE:

Sincere apologies for the long downtime of our download section. It is now fully available again and contains an updated list of old and new prototypes, publications, and project documentation.

Please note that the project documentation is only available to registered users. However, you can register for free on the home page.

Also note that we are now using Google Code as a development repository. You are welcome to download the latest version of the LPP tool and raise any issues in Google Code's issue tracker, but please note that this tool is still a prototype and not for production purposes.

03 July 2007 - Pedagogic Planner Prototype Progress PDF Print E-mail

The Java-based prototype development is progressing rapidly. We have adopted agile software development methods and released seven versions internally within the past five weeks, concentrating on the following functionality:

  • time-allocation of teaching methods and the representation of cognitive activities embedded within each method;
  • setting of topics and outcomes and the creation of links between them;
  • scheduling of topics on a weekly calendar and representation of outcomes covered.

Screenshot of Java version 0.15 - Teaching Methods On 20 June, we did our first user-testing of the new alpha prototype with a group of seven lecturers at London Metropolitan University. Although limited in functionality, participants generally indicated that the planner prompts thinking and helps visualise issues and ultimately take decisions.

At this time, there is no official release date of the first public alpha version, so please check back regularly for further updates.
